A Roaring Gala Audience

Connecting with a gala audience in all the best ways.
Connections to Success hosts an annual luncheon with major individual donor implications. Many attendees have come to the event in years past.
The problem:
How do we persuade a repeat crowd to donate at a luncheon?
Our solution:
Create a gala video that tells the hero’s journey of one of the organization’s biggest advocates.
The story follows Mataka Askari.
…the man whose circumstances led him into a life of crime - and 23 years in prison.
But we don’t tell stories that dwell on the past. We tell stories that focus on how a person transforms their life - with just a bit of guidance from an organization.
The hero of this story is not Connections to Success.
The hero of this story is Mataka Askari.
… the man who overcame his past
… his own limiting beliefs
… and societal barriers.
When we focus on the person and not the organization, the audience picks up on that; they’re not directly being sold. They are showing how their services can empower great people just like Mataka.
“[Nonprofit Video] is the only videographer to ask me “How much money do you want to make at this event?”
They understand what the video is supposed to accomplish - help raise funds to support the organization.
What they produced brought our crowd to their feet with cheers and applause. It was magic!”
