2X Donations for their Annual Gala

How a gala that had all four speakers drop out doubled their donations from the year prior.

We have been working with [Nonprofit Video] almost a year. Through their creative video work, our mission, has captured the hearts of communities throughout the USA. Their passion for our success of saving veterans by saving dogs, shines through in their person and their work.
— April, Director of Fundraising, Dogs for our Brave

Dogs for our Brave had four of the veterans they provide services to scheduled to speak at their annual gala.

Tragically - and by no fault of their own - each veteran had to drop out the day prior or the day of.

The problem:
How do you replace the gala’s programming to fill the spot of four, fantastic veterans and drive donations?

Our solution:
Still utilize the veterans.

Yes, you read that right.

We had captured video testimonials of each veteran prior to the gala.

The MC for the night introduced each video and then let them play.

What we found was an incredibly engaged audience.

They were able to see exactly what each veteran went through in their day to day lives through video.

Although veterans can explain in person, the visual aid helps the audience connect at a much deeper level.

Our result:
By the end of the night, Dogs for our Brave had raised over 2x the amount raised in last year’s gala.

Take a second:
If you had twice the amount of donations you currently have, what could you do for your organization?
